NHESICS
NIGERIA'S HALAL ECONOMY STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE
FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA
About
NHESICS coordinates Nigeria’s execution of Nigeria’s Halal Economy Strategy — providing oversight, accreditation infrastructure, and the digital systems that make certification trustworthy at scale.
Execution is organized around four enablers, each translating strategy into measurable infrastructure for Nigeria.
Establishing Nigeria's Halal authority model, aligning standards with recognized global bodies, and building accredited laboratory and certification capacity.
Mobilizing concessional finance, sukuk instruments, and non-interest banking to fund infrastructure, SME scale-up, and certification expansion.
Trade missions, international roadshows, and buyer engagement to connect certified Nigerian products with OIC and global markets.
Training auditors, certifying SMEs, and building the talent pipeline needed to sustain a credible Halal ecosystem for Nigeria.
The Nigerian National Accreditation System (NiNAS) accredits certification bodies operating on this platform, ensuring every Halal certificate traces back to a recognized, audited authority — the same governance model used by Malaysia’s JAKIM and Saudi Arabia’s SFDA.
